so I picked up a pair of newer B2 glass to replace my 84's scratched up windows... and it has the newer rubber trim. I was planning on drilling the holes and installing them instead of using the aluminum trim, but I have a problem it seems some of the mounting studs were pulled out of the rubber trim. Is it possible to epoxy them back in or is that not going to work? Is it possible to cut the rubber off and use the aluminum trim? I am not exactly sure how I am going to go about getting these swapped out. I don't really want to install it without all the mounting studs doing their jobs.

Any suggestions?s

call some of the glass shops near u i did this but it was on a 91 2door s10 blazer got new seals and trim for like 50.00

I have an '86 Bronco II with rubber seals around the privacy glass quarter windows. May I ask where you found yours? My seals are drying out badly and I've not been able to find replacements.

No I got a pair of entire windows with seals. I am trying to replace windows that are scratched up on my bronco. The problem is the mounting studs that are embedded into the rubber trim on the "new" (used) windows are not all there. I need to either epoxy the old ones in or figure out some alternative.

Those windows are actually suppose to have a sealant on them between the rubber trim and the metal anyhow. The studs just help to hold them in place a little bit. matter of fact from the factory the nuts are just barely more than hand tight anyhow. As long as you use a good adhesive designed for window installation you shouldn't have any problems with a couple broken studs. I know this because I had to replace a broken window in my wifes 88 B2.

I replaced the original side window on my 84 Bronco II with a newer style one when it got broken. The sealant I used was butyl which comes in rolls and is available at body shop supply places,it is used for removeable windows as it never really hardens. You could use something like a urethane windshield adhesive and holding the window in place until it hardens but you would probably have a nightmare trying to ever get the window out if you had to.

What's the butyl stuff like? Is it a putty on some tape for like around rv windows or drains or am I thinking of something else?

butyl is gross thick black tar looking stuff... looks like this:

urethane comes in a caulking tube and is like pl-x00 because it's pretty much permanent...

butyl is virtually the only thing that actually holds a windshield in... that should do the trick...

Where did you find the window assemblies? Does Ford still have them?

I got em from a junkyard, but am getting different ones now that I tradedfor another on. Id sell the pair with a few missing studs, but you'd have to be close. Pm me.
