I am looking at purchasing an 84 Bronco II just for the rebuilt engine. The question is in using it in a swap. Obviously this will fit another 84, but will it 'plug and play' on an 85 as well? And if I were to consider other years is this a hassle going from carbureted to fuel injected. What would be involved?
Thanks,
Paul G

Clarifying the hassle part of the question ....what is involved in the wiring to install the engine in an 86-90. I prefer the 84-88 body style but I have a few choices of broken down rigs and would like to take advantage of an opportunity. The 84 Bronco II is trashed but has a good engine

It really all depends on several factors, how much is the B2? do you have an 84 or 85 to put the engine in? Is the seller trustworthy? why would he rebuild an engine if the B2 is in such bad shape?(unless it was wrecked afterward) If it's a good deal and you have an 84 or 85 that needs an engine, go for it!

As far as changing an 86 - 88 2.9 to a carbed 2.8, I would just pass on it and put the money into a 4.0 swap instead. It really comes down to what you want to do....
