I have an 86 Bronco II V6 fuel injected. My fuel filter has been leaking for about 3 months. I have one fuel filter with two inlines and two outlines. But the thing I was wondering is can I replace the one with 2 smaller fuel filters? Will it restrict fuel to the engine or to the fuel injecters?

Any suggestions helps

Thanks Erik

Are you talking about the filter under the drivers seat?It was pretty easy to change that one with the right filter from the parts house it just unscrews stick the filter into it.The thing to remember is the plastic fuel line is a little more trouble to work on than metal or rubber fuel lines when your putting in a whole different set up.

Yea its the one under the driver side on the rail and ive replaced the filter twice using the o ring that comes with the filter and it still leaks but its to the point where im tired of losing money from leaking gas so I want to do a change thats easy so I was wondering if it would restrict gas flow and make the engine run less efficiant.

I went through the exact same issue with my filter replacement, the stupid o-ring that came with the first two filters wouldn't stay seated and seal. They jumped off the seat got pinched by the threads.

What I did was go to an industrial fire hose equipment supply and dig through their collection and wound up with a larger diameter ring, slightly smaller in OD that sort of fit the basket better.

Great filter idea, terrible implementation.

But I just want to do an easy and fast fix but im not sure if using two of the smaller filters will do any damage.

But thanks for the idea incase this one doesnt work.

Here is what works for me EVERY time. Put the Oring in the cap where it belongs, then fill the entire groove with vasaline or petroleum jelly. Press it into the groove. It will hold the oring in place while you thread the lower piece, with the new filter in it, into place. Basically you can not use to much vasaline because the gas desolves what gets into the chamber.:icon_thumby:
