I have a 1985 Ford Bronco 2 and i have been told countless times that with just a little body customization that i can swap out my puny v6 for a Roush 427r engine and it will work i need to know if this is true because i dont want to waste the money if it wont work. someone please help me

Ford FRPP does sell a 340HP 4.6 with a stand alone computer for this kind of application. Going up to the 427R is really going to cost, blower kit is over 5K. Myself, I would just go with a 302/347 crate motor putting out 450HP and be done with it, put a sticker on the air cleaner from a Hi-Po 289 and then let the people guess.
Don't think you really want a 427R in a BII. I hit 80 mph in mine at 4000 rpm and still in third gear.

Nope, just the standard five speed, still has the stock 4.6 motor w/3.55 gears, still pulling like crazy. Am up-grading in a couple of weeks to the new all forged interanls w/new TVS blower. Installed by Roush, 3 year/36k mile warrenty, 540/580 hp at crank. What the OP needs is something with some torque, not a screamer.
DAve - Spelling looks a little messed up, had a light supper tonight, Miller Lite infact!

wow...if u have a Roush 4.6 laying around, i would buy a foxbody notch and drop it in there.

those 4.6's dont even come alive until about 4K

Mac, sounds like u have a sweet ride. I am eventually gonna put a Whipple HO on my GT.

Holeshot,
I don't and won't have a spare 4.6 laying around but am able to keep the Roushcharge that is coming off the car. Damn, forgot which forum I was at. Taking into the Roush installing center on the 19th for a minor upgrade. Forged short block with the new TVS charger. I'm old school, these new ones are expensive and hard to work on. Got maybe five-six windsors and a 428 laying around the garage right now.
