Broken spindle stud on the knuckle

Do you drive the broken stud out of the knuckle and press in new? Add heat? 1992 Dana 35. Comments welcome.

You're talking the 5 little studs that hold the spindle to the knuckle? Hammer it out from the side, slide new one in, put a few washers under the nut then tighten the nut to pull it in, that's it, similar to a wheel stud...

In my experience they come out pretty easy. Like a gentle tap with 2lb hammer.
