Gotten to the assembly phase and on the second piston broke the compression ring. My cheap ring compressor did't do its job. (or more likely I didn't do mine! Waiting on new compressor that doesn't require ratcheting a metal band. Can't wait to get the short block done and start the remaining job. I have total knee surgery coming up on the 20th. Would love to have this bad boy running by then.

I had both knees replaced (same time) almost exactly one year ago. I feel much better than I did before. Do your exercises!...

Yeah, no matter how much it hurts, do the therapy and push as hard as they let you. You’ll be waaay better off in the end.

but don't go too hard, there's a balance...

true dat! I pushed with the old ring and a rubber handled hammer. Never had a problem before. Now getting a tapered ring compressor disk WISECO for thumb pushing.

Worth the wait! Got my Wiseco ring compressor today. Took a couple of tries to see how it works best. Wow, sooooo much better than that old ratchet style ring compressor. If a quick push of the thumb don't do it. Retract, reload and thumb push again. Both pistons went in slick as a whistle.

I meant on the knee replacement, but yeah, that too :)
