Broken metal in lower oil pan

I got the front timing components changed, the rear cartridge changed, and the entire engine put back together. I decided not to change the rear seal as it didn't seem wet as @RobbieD described. I cranked the car a few times with the fuel pump fuse out to get the oil circulating and then put the fuse back in and started the engine. It sounded great in its idle state. After about 5 seconds of running, I looked under the car, and oil was pouring on the floor. I probably lost 1/2 - 3/4 of a quart in the 5-10 seconds the engine was running.

So here is my question, outside of the rear seal, is there any other location that would produce that much oil?

As an FYI, I bought this truck knowing the front timing tensioner was broken. So I don't know what the oil state was before I purchased/repaired it. I bought the truck without the engine running.

Thanks again in advance!

oil filter was on? oil pan plug in place? it happens is why i ask.

i lost an engien because i was so excited to have it back together and in the car i just started it and drove off. locked up about 3/4 of a mile away

For it to leak that much... it had to be a leak on an oil pressure port.

Oil pressure sender
Oil filter
Timing chain tensioners
Any pressure port plug you might have removed.

I doubt if the rear main starting leaking it would dump oil that fast.

100% It's not coming from the oil filter or drain plug. I checked those first.

It's hard to see behind the engine, but it does seem like oil is coming from somewhere under the bell housing. Are there oil pressure ports on the back of the engine?

I've never been that far into one of these.

I know @G8orFord and @gw33gp have been... maybe they have a thought.

What about the jackshaft plug? You seem to think it's coming from the rear of the engine. Did you remove that plug when you changed the tensioner?

What about the valve covers? Are you sure the gaskets are properly in place?

If Gasket\Seal\Washer around an OilPressurized TimingTensioner, either LeftFront or RightRear,
is not carefully centered as Tensioners are snugged up,
or if Tensioner~Head seat is scratched]\gouged,
oil will spew out around Tensioner like blood from a stuck pig.
Oil Leak from LeftFront Tensioner, can quickly fill EngineV, then run back & down over BellHousing, a big mess.
Click here for more info on installing those Tensioners.

You don't have an old oil filter gasket stuck in place. Happened to me before. I lost 2 liters in about 15 seconds.

I verified that the oil was not coming from the tensioners, plugs near the tensioners, or the valve pan covers. I did not remove the rear jackshaft cover. I only removed the bolt that holds the cartridge in place and replaced the bolt with a new o-ring. I guess the next step is to pull the tranny again. Could I be missing anything else?
