Brokein back rest

i drive a 2000 ford ranger and on the passanger and driver side the lever that opperates the back rest doesnt work it just spins around now to fix this how would i go aobut doing that or is it not even worth the trouble? should i just go and try n buy new seats right away i was going to buy new ones but since i bought new lights i had to hold off i just am tired of sitting straight up and not able to use my back of the cab

tear it down and try and figure out what is broken and/or missing now....

probably a spring, lever, etc missing in the assembly... best way to learn about how your seat works also.

ya i was going to do that but heck the 60/40 is such a pain to take in and out so i think when its out its out the door with the little peice and its going to meet mr.sawzall lol thank n i was thinking mabey just a tack weld or something would do the trick
