just replaced entire clutch on my 89 2.9 4x4 and have never broke a new clutch in on a truck what is a reasonable break in time? plz n thnx will

Just drive it nice and "normal" for the first 500 miles. That's what I tell my customers...

Or just drive it, and don't side-step or drop the pedal for a few weeks. You'll be fine.
FYI, to much of that sucks air in through the master's shaft seal and you will have an issue.

I've never had a clutch issue, due to improper break-in.

I would say maybe go easy on it for the first 100 miles or so (no towing or drag racing lol), but yeah, chances are you'll also be fine if you just treat it normally.

I've been through 3 clutches on my Ranger so far I think (Napa stock replacements for a 2.3), but the short life (20k miles each or so on the last couple) was due to a cheap chinese flywheel wearing out, and offroading a 4 cylinder 4x4 ranger on 31's with 4.10's, the turbo didn't help on the last one... :)
