God is great, beer is good, and rangers are awesome!
Yep, i found a brand stinking new 1999 ford ranger!

So, i knew a guy that knew a guy that knew a dead guy that bought a ranger in 2000 before he died. It was a 4x4 black xlt extended cab 4.0 automatic. All the same as my truck, exept black and automatic. It had 257 or 275, one of those lol, miles on the thing! The dead guys son owns it now, parked in a garage with flat tires, i really wish i could've gotten pics so bad but i didn't have my camera or anything :annoyed:. But i guess i can explain it to you, not a single scratch, dent, no rust, nothing. Interior was pristine, no flat driver seat, cigarette lighter wasn't in the dash lol, just brand new! Engine bay was all nice and clean, no dust, dirt, and oil. And i thought my truck was like new!

I talked to the guy and he said that he was going to drive it but "never got to it".
He said he started it once in a while, so i asked if he can start it. He gave me the keys and i got to sit in a brand new ranger! It was just cool to me, lol. It wouldn't start, just click. Battery was dead. I said, "i can jump it for you" and he's like " noo, nooo" like he didn't want to, idk.

And I finally asked him if he would sell it, i was willing to go up to 15,000 for it! If the engine wasn't any good, the body is worth putting a new one in it! But of corse he said no. So i guess it will sit there and rot in the dusty, dark garage.

I just thought i would share this, i couldn't believe it when one of my friends said that they knew someone with a "low mile" ranger.

Again, I really wish I had pictures, and I didn't bring my camera because I wasn't expecting an actual NEW 1999 ranger. Im probably not going to go back and get pics, it would be weird I guess Lol. But yeah, what would you do if you seen a new older ranger?

Bummer about no pictures.

1999 Ranger with under 500 miles wouldn't be on my wish list especially in the condition you described.
Every seal in the engine and every hose in that truck will need to be replaced if you wanted to drive it, or fill the tires with air and park it in a museum.

It is part of his Dads memory so to him priceless, and worth every penny.
The $15,000 price means "not for sale"

Rangers are not, and never will be, collector cars they just don't have any of the needed qualities, they were/are good reliable small pickups and I like them.
The 275 miles is unique but not a real value in my opinion, I would pay less because of it.
Low miles would be 5,000 a year, enough to keep seals and hoses in reasonable condition but a good find if for sale, if you are looking for a driver, which most buyers of small trucks are looking for.

For most buyers they are worth the going rate for a small reliable pickup truck, if you like Rangers then they are worth a little more, but just a little, lol.

I would rather change a few seals than bodypanels...
