Brake Pedal Noise

I get a rubbery, creaking type of noise when pressing the brake pedal. It sounds like it's coming from just inside the firewall, in or around the brake booster. The rubbery sound increases as the pedal is pressed farther down. Also, the problem is noticeably worse on warmer days than cool days.

I just had the brake booster replaced today and it didn't make any difference. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it likely that a faulty master cylinder would be causing this problem?

Mine have always made noise...I tried squirting them with oil but they would squeak again within a few weeks or months...

Problem seems to stem from too many connecting points and rubber/steel contact...

If you've changed the booster, try squirting some silicone spray around the actual pedal assembly that sits up under the dash...if you have a standard the clutch pedal also rides on that shaft, but if not there are little rubber spacers (plastic maybe) that can dry out and may be a source for noise...plus the spacer inside the pedal sleeve could be dried out...so spray it liberally if you can get at it...maybe use one of those plastic extension nozzles that focus the spray into a more refined area...but the silicone is actually OK for rubber and wire harnesses...it may drip and run back onto connectors, but this stuff actually inhibits water so it's a win-win situation...
