1992 ranger 2wd exd cab. front brakes make grinding noise when put on but not all the time. replaced rear shoes last night, front were done already when i bought the truck, yes i took the wheels off and checked, the rotors are new as well as the pads, so could the noise be coming from something else. if anyone has had this same problem let me know.

Check your wheel bearings and all the caliper hardware and caliper bracket hardware, sometimes a few bolts will come loose and when you apply your brakes it will rub on the rotor causeing the grinding your hearing, just take your brakes apart and check everything over a few times and look for any evidence of grinding, I actually had a caliper bracket bolt fall off and the caliper would rub the inside of the rim amd lock up my wheel when I hit the brakes lol oops
