So a few years ago I had bought my first OBS F150. 95 standard cab. XLT. 302 automatic. Paid 350 for it.

I ended up selling it when I was in a rough situation. And the guy lived one town over from me.

Fast forward to this past January. I left a note on the truck asking if he would sell it. He called me back. But I was in the middle of moving back from Florida. And I lost his number.

I decided yesterday to stop by and see if he was home. Low and behold he was taking the plates off it. He bought a older f150. I asked if he would sell me my truck back. 850 bucks later. And with 4 brand new tires in the back. I was driving it home.

Plans are. I’m gonna build a motor for it. Nothing crazy. Mainly stock rebuild. Gt40 heads. Better cam and Intake. And headers. 5 speed swap. And just “restomod” as I go.

cool, I saw my old F150 for sale last year, but the guy had crashed it and it was just in horrible condition.. It seems you had better luck.

Actually the guy fixed it better than when I sold it. Still needs some things addressed that it always needed. But it’s a good candidate for a resto-mod

Congratulations! Wish I could have bought my old truck back. It was an 88 F150 custom, single cab, 4x4, 302, manual trans., Manual transfer case, manual hubs, manual window cranks, no A/C. I loved that truck. Had around 216k on the odometer when I sold it. I drove that thing everywhere between Maine and Florida, east of the Mississippi. Used it for my electrical contracting business.

It's nice to see you got it back in better shape then when you sold it. My '79 Supercab was beat to hell in the 20 years between 97, when I sold it and 2017, when I bought it back... but I had to buy it. It was the only new vehicle my grandfather bought and also my first vehicle.

I love hearing these kind of stories. I wish I could get my grandpa's old ranger back. He has dementia really bad and only has a couple years left.

Got rid of the hacked together side pipes (I’ll admit. I was in a hurry years ago when i did it)

Wanted to keep the flowmasters. But they were too rusty. And I had the glasspacks and pipes on my shelf already. Sounds pretty good. Louder but good.

Eventually I’ll go long tubes. And dual flowmaster super 40s. But that’ll wait till the 5 speed swap

Nice. Need to tackle that frame rust too when you get time.

Yeah I gotta pull the bed soon. Looks worse in the pic than it does in person. It’s just surface rust.

It looks nice. I imagine the noise echoing off the sheet metal amplifies the sound some.
