Bought an 88.

The 88 will end up donating it's dash harness to my 4.0 swap as the guinea pig harness to be converted from 1st gen 2.9 to (possibly) OBDII 4.0.

If that 88 ends up with any engine other than a 2.3D or 2.3 T it will probably be a 5.0.

I was going to say, here's the second dash you were looking for (per the post where you talked about it last night)

Thats not bad at all for 300 bucks...You're going to get your moneys worth out of that!:icon_thumby:

I'm not even paying the full $300 for it in the end. I pay $300 up front, swipe the credit card at work, grab the points for it, go pay it all off right away, take the dash, heads, and headliner (easily worth $150) and then sell the remainder to my co-worker for $150 for his 2.3 turbo build.

With any luck I'll have the time and energy to help work on that project too.

And now I have a conundrum.

What I was told was "Rod knock" that got worse as the engine warmed up seems to have only been a blocked and collapsed lifter. Noise was no where to be found last night when I drove it. And it runs better than mine.

With some fairly minor work it would probably be a pretty good truck as is.

hmmm....i like the cab
