It's the photo negative, mirror image of my 87.

Got it for $300.

Looks to be in not too bad a shape...but how is the under side?

Well, it was traded in under a "minimum $3000 trade" promo, so it was bound for the junk yard.

I'm gonna take the engine, dash, and headliner, then sell the rest of it to another guy I work with. Then we are gonna take the engine and dash from his rotted out 94 and make it a 2.3 turbo.

Or it may become a diesel. Jim knows where he can get a forklift with a Perkins 2.3 turbo and the Ford bell housing for free. Engine runs, hydro pistons are shot.

Hey - what's wrong with the red?? Looks like mine. Nice buy. How many miles?

Underside is pretty good. The guy who works next to me almost bought it for a frame donor.

Nothing is wrong with red. I love red. Mine is red inside. That and the tach are about the only reasons I even gave it a second thought.

id drive it looks too good to part out.

Well, I personally don't have anywhere to put it. The engine has some bad rod knock or piston slap, not sure until I tear it down, and the trans shifts itself when you rev too high.

My partner in this project, on the other hand, has a yard, a garage, and a 2.3 that needs a new home and a blower. I get a dash, a new headliner, and a project engine (or at least some spare heads) for $150. He gets a new truck to put his engine in for $150. Everyone but his wife is happy, and we may be done before she even finds out.

everyone wins but the wife lol

Gotta do what ya gotta do. I've bought 2 extra B2's for certain parts then sold the rest to get my money back. When you're on a budget, that's all you can do.

4.0 Swap!!!!!

The 88 will end up donating it's dash harness to my 4.0 swap as the guinea pig harness to be converted from 1st gen 2.9 to (possibly) OBDII 4.0.

If that 88 ends up with any engine other than a 2.3D or 2.3 T it will probably be a 5.0.

Hey, if the frame isn't rotted, go for it. I'd love some more details about a 5.0 in an '88. I just drool in the v8 swap forum. Just not sure I've got enough energy or time to do it.
