Basically the same thing as the mossberg 500 just cheaper. Got it at the local pawn shop for 135 bucks, so I'm pretty happy. ain't go to shoot it yet. Been readin reviews online, haven't heard anything bad. Anyone own one?

Bet it wasnt at cheap as my Sears bolt action 12 gauge. LOL I bet I'd rather shoot yours though.

I had a 500 when I was younger an loved it. This one's the same thing, just black instead of the wooden finish.

I love my 500, my main deer slaying machine.

What barrel did you get with it?

I passed on a Maverick cus from what I read it was really cheap. so I got myself a 500 and I love that shotgun its a blast

Mossberg is exactly what you hear........ a ralatively cheap gun, that shoot straights, you can drop it in the mud, throw it off your 4wheeler, and it's always guaranteed to fire.

But the drawback is...... if you fill the action full of sand, it will feel just as cheap and gritty as it did brand new. The fit and finish is a joke, compared to most brands of guns.

Just shoot it and know it will be faithfull, just don't ever brag up how beutifull of a gun it is or how smooth the action is, or you'll be laughed out of the camp.

i have a new england fire arms single shot 20 gauge. i like it lots

i also have a benelli semi-auto 12 gauge, it destroys fruit lol

i have a henry lever action .22 pretty good guns

ive got two remington 870 wingmasters both pump 12. ga and i love them! one with a 32" barel and the other with a 28" and a cupple old 12 ga and 4.10 ga. pump actions that sears' sold years ago, they have never failed me =]
ive always thought mosberg was the "ill get that cause everyone else has one gun" lol

Huh, that's what I always thought about Remington 870's.

That's exactly why I like my Mossberg 500. I've been shooting it for 10 years, haven't been particularly nice to it or cleaned it as often as I should, but damnit it has never failed me. I was going to get a new gun this year, but I just can't bring myself to retire the old girl. The forearm is cracked, and that's the only thing that's wrong with it. That probably happened years ago, bouncing on the rack of my fourwheeler.

A pump shot gun is a pump shot gun. When it comes to looks, they usually all look about the same from 10' away.

I was doing a lot of teasing at a family get together after I won a clay target shooting contest we had a couple months ago, nobody could knock on the 'ol 500 that day... and is even a 20 gauge. :D By far I had the cheapest gun there.

Gotta pick your battles just like anything, but don't be afraid to brag up your gun if you get a chance :icon_thumby:

lol yeah that made me laugh from 10' away its so true..... ive always drawn my oppinion because all the kids i went to highscoool were major mossberg fans....and they always wore mossberg clothing and weird stuff like that lol

I have found a hat, but that is it. Otherwise all the stuff I see is Remington or Browning.

well i think the populaitry factor works the same everywhere, just with different things we can all relate to ... not tryin to rag on mossberg at all just saying the ones i grew up with were diehards lol

I know, there just isn't much Mossberg stuff around here.

Field stripping its easy but putting it back together is a pain in the ass, there are 2 action bars and you got to hold them in while you slide the bolt and carrier back in you almost need a 3rd hand, not like the 870 that is cake
