Good Morning Fellow Red Necks.

Bottom tap completed with NO other access but the hole in the bottom of tank.

Do not attempt this at home.

Drill tank with pneumatic drill, NOT electric or you will be featured on that TV show 1000 ways to die.

The factory tank is surprisingly thick.

Aluminum plate drilled tapped 1/4" NPT with 3/8" nipple:

Take note of the type bolt I am using, pic above, extended flat surface to engage tank and seal.

Done with fitment, have not sealed it up in these pics:

Maybe I'm the only one wondering, but what exactly are you using this for?

Your joking right?

Shane's not the only one! Those are called flange bolts, usually found in the front dress.

Your joking right?

Actually no I'm not. Just wondering what the advantage of this would be over factory. I've never seen or heard of anyone doing this before.

(I mean, it's obvious you are using it to get fuel, I'm not that dumb. Also wondering why there's no top access?)

I'm pondering the reasoning for such a thing myself? Please do enlighten us? Swapping to carbed v8 with mechanical pump? Only reason I can fathom?

seems like a good way to suck in all the crud that would be in the bottom of your tank

Put a riser in it so it isn't sucking off the very bottom, I do that with tractors all the time.

I run a Holley 750 double pumper, my pickup tube is leaking and sucking air, I can stand to get more flow, my tank does not have crud in it, I pre filter before pump, this was easier than dropping the tank, or pulling the bed

well as long as you filter properly then you should be good

Try clicking on my build thread.

I did just that. I see now, I bet that wooden bed weighs more than the stocker (needed more traction:icon_confused:) I'm sure the bottom mounted pickup would be easier than taking that thing off:shok: Super nice crate engine though:icon_thumby:

Btw the bike is holy crap gnarly:icon_surprised: Nice dude

Not even close, took four people to lift factory bed, I can lift this one by myself, and I am an old man
