hey guys can anyone tell the size of the bolt that mounts the trans to the engine i got a junk yard motor to rebuild and i want to mount to engine stand but dont have the bolts anyone have an idea any help would be good.

m10x1.25 or 1.50 can't remember which. power steering pump bracket bolts from a 4.0 are a perfect fit and are long enough to bolt an engine to a stand

What a coincidence!

You're dealing with bolt size and I'm working with a missing nut.

As you may have seen in another thread I'm trying to replace my steering gear box and had some time today so thought I would give it another shot.

In an attempt to get the upper half of the steering shaft off I lost a nut and when I found a hardware store with the right size the person behind the counter said it didn't matter that automotive nuts and bolts are black and the ones he has are silver. I thought automotive nuts were hardened.

Am I going to die from using this nut the hardware store sold me on my steering shaft? :dunno:
