Bolt pattern question

Okay so I can't figure out what my truck's bolt pattern is. It's more than 5 on 4.25...but less than 5 on 4.50. I can't fit this set of 5 on 4.5,15x8 black crawler steelies on my 87 Ranger STX. I cannot figure out what bolt pattern I need. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Is it like a one year thing or something? I need help. Lol

your rims aren't 5 on 4.5 if they wont fit. or the center hole is too small. google "how to measure 5 lug bolt pattern" and measure your rims bolt pattern

you measure 5 lugs from the center of one to the center of one of the ones opposite, I am betting you have some 5 on 4.75" (chevy s10) rims because all ranger rims and bolt patterns are 5 on 4.5"

If you're positive that the wheels have the 5x4.5" bolt pattern, then they are catching on something, probably the hub.

It IS 5x4.5. All of our Rangers have the same bolt pattern unless it has been modified with spacers or different axles. You're probably having an issue with the hub.

I would be surprised if its the hub problem, i think most aftermarket rims especially the steel ones have massive hub holes, my aftermarket steels had a good 1/8th -1/4" insh between the hub and lip.

I would have to agree that its likely hub bind. I ran into that on the fronts when throwing my Eagle's on. Had to mill the centre.

My guess would be that, like Orginal_Ranger said, you probably have a set of Chevy wheels.

From what I've seen, all the steel wheels have large enough holes in the center for the hub, and that is is only aluminum wheels that have to be machined down (from what I've seen!). Or, at least every set of "crawler" wheels I've seen have had large enough center holes.

Just an idea here. I'm aware that some people have to machine the center out to fit certain rims.
