I know you can convert to a bigger bolt pattern bit can you go from an 8lug to a 5x4.5?and also what wheels are these?

No idea about the wheels, but why would you want to go from 8 lug to 5? Usually if you are running tons, you're also running a big engine and big tires. If that is the case, using a smaller bolt pattern isn't the best idea, your wheels will not like it.

Seen it done and it's absolutely retarded. The spacers/adapters cost more than a set of wheels. And PLEASE dont tell you that you're just doing it for looks or I swear to Abdul I'll smack the shit out of you.

SOME axles you can change the axle shafts out with ones that have different lug patterns which I'm sure someone could come up with a reason to do so, just not good reasons. And some front axles you can change out the knuckles or spindles to get different bolt patterns. I can only think of a few abitrary reasons to switch lug patterns. None of them would be a good reason to go from 8 lug to 5x4.5

I'd buy the wheels sooner rather than later. Later being when you're stranded on the side of the road or on a trail with the center ripped out of one of your wheels.

If this is the big motor, big axles, big tires scenario described above, that is exactly where you will wind up. I know, i've been there.

What axles are you going to? If your moving to 8 lug I recommend trailworthyfab wheels. I just finished paying for my set and they are sexy, with the benefit of me now being able to buy 37's at around $50 each. You could always find stock wheels for cheap on craigslist until you locate the wheels you want.
