I am looking for a bolt on that actually is useful for the 3.0... have a magnaflow cat back, K&N FIPK, Helix Throttle body spacer, Superchips Flashpaq... what else is relatively inexpensive and builds some power? Headers, throttle bodies, CAT pipes, underdrive pulleys, etc...

some input on what is best would be helpful

you can take off the stock 1.6 Ratio Roller Rockers and put in sum 1.7 ratio Roller Rockers from www.stuffforyourranger.com, The New Roller Rockers do show a noticable difference. I think it keeps the valves open longer for more airflow or sumthin like that. It basically reduces the amount of rpm u need to accelerate, giving u better low end power, which in turn is good for towing and hauling heavy loads. (Its also good for doing those Tire Melting Burnouts Too!!!):icon_thumby: Theres also a Stroker Kit from Morana Racing that I think would show a big increase in power, but its quite expensive, and u can turbo your ranger, im not sure how to do it, but there r ppl that do it, and its a massive increase in horses. Just search around and see wat u can find. Hopes This Helps, Take Care.

UDP crank pulley makes a big difference. I recommend it along with a corresponding overdrive alternator pulley (to keep the alt running at the right RPMs), and the right-length serpentine belt to match. This is probably the best single bang-for-your-buck bolt on available.

A catback may help a bit. Headers may help as well, and porting/polishing the intake may improve things. No one of those things will do much of anything on its own, IMO, but as part of the big picture they are worth doing.

1.7:1 roller rockers are said to make a very noticable improvement. Morana's are the only true bolt-on-and-go option, but the Rogue roller rockers (stuffforyourranger.com) don't require too much work (tap the heads, set the preload for each lifter) and are a bit cheaper.

Oh yeah, check your throttle cable (search TC mod). Many times on older trucks it's preventing you from opening the throttle 100%.

I have looked at stuffforyourranger.com and I think I am going to get the pulley kit. Maybe the rockers later on.

Btw I have an intake, cat back, throttle body spacer, and superchips flaskpak

The throttle body spacer is a gimmick. It probably hurts performance more than it helps it.

Yeah... I don't think it hurts performance... Sounds nice though

I searched TC mod and many variations of this and came up eith nothing. Can someone point me in the right direction? I assume all your doing is taking the slack out of the throotle cable inorder to fully open the throttle. I did that on my '88 2.9L and it made a huge difference. I just got and '01 3.0L and dont think this is an issue.

I do plane on doing the under drive pulleys and the 1.7 rockers for a lil more power based on what I've heard.

all the spacer does it waste ur money it makes a better paper weight than performance adder
