I was taking the valve cover off in my truck because I noticed it was leaking oil. Well, now I see that not only is the gasket petrified, but there is a bolt broken off in the (Right side VC) top closest corner to me. Normally, I would go and get a dremel tool to get it flat, a centerpunch, drill, and easy out and I'd have the thing out in 5 minutes... BUT somebody has already been trying to work on it and has drilled a hold on the side of the bolt which is crooked as well. I am stumped. If I could get the bolt out, I could put a helicoil in there and fix it right up, but I can't. I feel like I need this bolt considering it's holding down the corner. Looks as if the guy before me broke some off in the other too, so this is gonna be fun. :bawling:

I'm gonna look around for cracks, and if I see one, looks like I got my new solution, however I would like to not do this if I can help it.... :dunno:

Is this a headbolt that's broken off? I wouldn't worry about it until you something happens to those heads. You may never have to worry about that.

Nah, it's a corner bolt that holds down the valve cover. I just don't want it to give trouble in the future.
