Hello all,
I am new to the RangerStation and wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions. So here's the summarized question, just bought an 88 ranger 2.3L 4 cylinder. I've replaced the rail pump, fuel filter, ran codes and replaced the TPC sensor. It's main problem is that it loses power when it chooses in different gears and will then pick back up to normal power. It started to run better after replacing the tpc sensor, but now idles around 1000 rpms and will die on me when getting into first unless i give it a lot of power. Can't find a vacuum leak either. Is replacing the fuel pump in the gas tank a lot of work, and would that even be a cause? Anyone have any other ideas or know of similar problems, I would really appreciate it!
Also, it used to idle at high and low rpms as it chose, but now idles better after replacing tpc sensor, although it now drops below 1000 when putting into gear, it almost dies on my every time.
Sorry, I know I said condensed, but trust me, that is.
