I know there is instructions in the Tech Library, but i wanted to find out first hand how hard it is to do a body lift on a 1999 ford ranger extended cab stepside 4X4.

I went to go check out how much they were at the local 4X4 shop and the guy discouraged it, he said the Ford's were a pain in the a$$. Just thought i would ask you guys what you thought, i was thinking of a 3" lift. I already have the t-bars cranked 3/4 of the way up in the front and replaced the stock 2" block in the back with a 4". I would like a little more lift 2"-3".

I have never done a body lift before so i am new and i dont want to have it done somewhere.

Thanks Guys!

ya i put a 3inch body on my 99 ranger and got it from summit racing for 140 i believe with shiping and me and 2 of my buddies put it on in a weekends time. but the weeek befor spray PBblaster on the body bolts everyday until the day u do it, it loosens then up pretty good we used all hand tools not air tools and alot of beer.

They are not too bad, just start soaking all the threads of the body mount bolts with some good penetrating fluid now and order one up. Should be able to get it done in a day with a couple friends helping to lift the box and stuff.

I did mine on my 91 in about 2 hours but I had the aid of a 2 post hoist I used to pick up the cab and box and air tools.

also applying small amount of heat with propane torch for a minute or two at a time before spraying threads will help in absorbtion of penetrating fluid, also would recommend when you get cab bolts out , to put in a couple of longer bolts on one side so that when you pick the other side your cab don't slide off the frame:bawling:
