I have a 2002 Ranger 4.0 4x4 super cab auto. Im goin to get a boat which weigh around 2500 to 3000 lbs. Will my truck pull it ok?

I have a 17 ft flats boat and my Ranger pulls it super fine and howdy doody when we go to Lake Panasoffkee or to the St. Pete area here in Florida. My 2010 Rogue will pull it as well. As long as your truck is in good shape you should have no problems. Are you going to tow it up any really really steep mountain areas?? That might be a different issue. You might need to put it in a different gear for that.

Your truck is rated to tow up to 5,000 lbs with the appropriate receiver hitch.

If you plan to tow it very much, you may want to add a transmission fluid cooler.

Welcome to The Ranger Station!

it has the tow package it has a cooler

could always get weight distribution and a sway bar set up if you needed. but that shouldn't be needed.

now, you might want lower (numerically higher) gears if you pull it a lot

if its got 4.10's and stock tires he'll be perfectly fine.

I don't really know if its got 4.10 gears in it but the tires are 265 70 16 and it calls for a 245 70 16

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelectric brakes........or slow down a lot sooner for stop signs/traffic lights/stupied drivers........
