I have a 98 Ranger with a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine. The head gasket is blown on the coolant side. I'm going to blue devil it to get it running. The owners manual says my coolant system holds 7.2 quarts bit the only bottle the auto parts store had was a 32oz. bottle. So how much of the bottle do I use to seal my head gasket?

None. Fix it the right way. Pull the head, have it magnafluxed, replace it if necessary along with the gasket.

One of my co-workers tried that sealant garbage on his Honda. It held for a couple months and then left him and his wife stranded out of town... if you want reliable, fix it the right way. If you are just selling the truck, the honest thing to do is leave it as it is so someone else can fix it the right way.

That mechanic in a can stuff usually causes more issues. Ive seen it block coolant passages and lead to overheating

we tried that once since it is so popular, and everyone said it saved them. didn't work for us

Don't do it... Just don't.... Contaminating your cooling system is a big nono... Water pump will fail radiator will clog and you'll have to end up doing the headgasket no matter what as well as fix everything else the blue devil destroys.... That stuff is like your out of town trying to get home and avoid a tow bill kinda thing and even then it rarely works...

A head gasket on a straight four is not a complicated or difficult job. I'd just buy the gaskets and put my torque wrench to work.
