Alright I have a 2001 ranger xlt and the damn 10 amp fuse for my heat/ a/c keeps blowing. i think it does it on startup but im not sure. I do know that i could put a brand new fuse in and then its shot when I use the truck again:annoyed:. I have no clue and its really buggin me now:icon_confused:. any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Don't know if this is relevent but I spent hours over the weekend tracking down a similar problem on a 2001 windstar. All things being equal they probably use the same components on the ranger of the same year. There is a switch on the brake master cylinder that has a habit of shorting out, unplug it and see if it solves the problem. please post what happens.

i unplugged the switch but the fuse still blows. it even blew while i was running the a/c. it was blowing then just stopped and sure enough it was another blown fuse again.

If you can find a diagram somewhere, start unplugging everything that's on the same fuse until you clear the circuit, might be a problem in the harness though which will be even more pita to find.
