Hey guys do you recommended putting some block on my truck, i heard they are dangerous, or should i just spring for a lift kit?

lift kit, please, no more redneck lifts. The ONLY blocks under your truck should be stock spacers on the top of your rear axle.

most lift kits come with blocks (that's how they keep the costs down). you would need to 'spring' for new springs. those get pricey.

it depends though, blocks are good for show trucks that never see dirt. so, the question should first be, what do you plan on using the truck for? and then, how high do you wanna go? i see no problem with a 1 or 2 inch block. a 4 or 6 block and you start running into axle rap problems

I was thinking a 2 inch block in the front, the truck is used mainly in the city.

blocks are for leaf sprung vehicles, your front suspension is not leaf sprung. you can get spacers for your coils, they're pretty cheap. they make rubber ones (which i would avoid) and aluminum ones. you can also get leveling coils for the front for pretty cheap. a 2 inch block in the back would be fine. you'd probably wanna get new shocks as well, but if you arent goin off-road, stockers would probably be fine

The front of his truck doesn't have coils either...well, unless it's a 2wd. It has torsion bars. If you want to lift the front of your truck a few inches, crank up the torsion bars.

its a 4x4, would i be able to crank up the torsion bar my self? if i can what would i need?

just get a jack a socket wrench and a measuring tape and you can do it yourself in about 10-20 minutes depending on how rusted the bolts are. I would take it for an alignment afterwards just to be safe.
