So today I went to the girlfriends, got there, I was waiting for her to come outside, I was holding the brake and all of a sudden, I hit the floor. I thought ok, maybe it was a fluke, pull out to a stop sign and lost all my brakes, and barely stopped, low and behold a big puddle of fluid.
So I managed to drive home using the parking brake, lets just say that is not any fun.

So, I get the bed off roll into the garage and start pulling things apart, get my line and fittings, had to use a 70 and 36 line to make it from front to back. Taking off the old line I break the line going to the driver rear tire, all the flare nuts on the long line. I managed to get it all hooked up today, in the process, I also put on new anti-rattle clips and broke them.

I also thought it would be a good idea to check my bearings, the wheels rolled freely, driver side had some wiggle, but you would never have guess what was inside the hubs. I'm surprised my wheel didn't fall off. I was full of rust. I replaced those, although I couldn't get the bearing seats out for the inner bearings, they were in there good and I beat on then for a good 10 minutes. I managed to strip out one nut, thank god it was a nut and not the spindle.

So After all that I want to get the brakes bled. Well, damn, the bleeders wont budge! I did all this for nothing, I should have just slapped a for sale sign on it and sold it for 500, would've got my money back for it.
I have it soaking in PB and managed to get the rear pass bleeder loose, the rest are seized on good. I stripped the front pass side already, the front driver is getting there and the rear driver isn't budging. Replacing the rear cylinders aren't a big deal, they're cheap enough, the calipers on the other hand are not. If I have to replace the calipers I might as well put on some f350 brake lines to free up my wheel travel, I'm losing a good 4 inches because of the stock lines with the f150 coils.
I've read of heating the bleeders up red hot and breaking them free that way, my father in law who owns a shop said that will destroy the seals inside, makes sense. Other have said weld a nut onto the bleeder and crack it that way, i have a welder no biggie, but I could end up breaking the bleeder in half.
I'm in real need of suggestions, this is a beater truck, not my daily driver, it's only for hauling my karts and junk, I don't want to spend more than I already have, today has cost me close to 100, and will probably lose a day of work as my back is killing me, I might have pulled it.

TL;DR Bleeder screws are seize, I sure as hell ain't buying new calipers. Need suggestions!

Heat the bleeder up red hot, then throw a cup of cold water on it immediatly, that will shock it loose. Works all the time for me.

I'll give this a try tomorrow. I just need some oxy for my torch.

Even a small propane torch works just fine i've found.

If that doesn't work, just replace the two rear cylinders and maybe the lines because you will end up doing it eventually and it doesn't cost that much...but you will have to change the shoes and maybe turn or replace the drums...

Hopefully you can crack the bleeders...it's a cheaper route, but not necessarily a pro-active method...

I just did the same thing last week. I heated them up with a small torch and sprayed them with PB Blaster. A good pair of vise grips and new speed bleeders and good to go.

For little under $40 I got brand new calipers.

For little under $40 I got brand new calipers.

That was the route I went recently too...replacing the calipers was needed on mine because I blew out one of the seals on one when the brake pad fell off...

My bleeders were a PITA too when I swapped my rear axle. I had to put the box end of a wrench on it and hit it with a rubber mallet to break it loose. Pb blaster doesn't ever hurt anything either. Just make sure that your turning it the right way lol. Easy to break sh** when you over-tighten it.

+1 on new rear brakes. New spring kit was $9.00 and the shoes were about $20.00. Can't really beat that.

Well, I got it rolling again, I bled the brakes, but they feel like there's still some air in the lines. I'll work on that later.
In the mean time I'm building new rear leaf shackles. One is cracked and rotted away, one good bump and it would be done for. Might as well do both. I'm also flipping the shackles, need to lower the rear some, plus I want some more flex and wheel travel.
