Bleeding Issues

Ok. I had recently swapped in an 8.8 with 10 inch drums. We patched the axle line and the supply brake line together with a barb fitting and hose clamps. Well that failed and we tryed fixing it by sliding a piece of tubing over the spot to act as a compression sleeve. Well it seemed to work but now we aren't getting any fluid past the block that the two steel lines come off. Only thing i can think is that block is clogged. Am i heading in the right direction or not? I would think i am since we are pumping fluid to the block but it's just not distributing out to each wheel through the steel lines. So any ideas???

Did you ever consider actually doing it right?

Sorry to sound harsh, but if you can't make brake lines for the rear, then you have no business swapping an axle.

If you can't make brake lines, then you need to take it to a real mechanic that can, so that you don't kill someone.

I did. Dad chose not to and he was the one paying for it since i'm 17 and currently not having luck finding a job. I from the start wanted to do it the right way but Dad said this would work and technically it did until it blew. Either way i still had the front brakes. I patched the line back together long enough to get it that 10 miles or so home and then parked it. I can't help my dad doesn't seem to think i know what i'm talking about. lol. So yeah i wanted to do the right way the old man had other ideas.

if you want a redneck fix, try cutting a section off the broken line, and get a durable rubber tube (one goo for pressure), and connect that in there using VERY tight and small hose clamps.

Now, if you go to Advanced Auto's, they have a rental unit for bending small pipe for $50, and the tubing is pretty cheap, gotta do mine here soon, they rusted through when I drove it.

If its clogged, replace it, or check all the ends and blow through them to see if there is anything clogging them, if you drain a section, blow into it, and feel pressure, its clogged and needs either replaced, or a long-cleaner for smaller terluts in the house.
 
Thanks kip. We tried the redneck fix minus the tubing that can handle pressure and it didn't work. I'm pretty sure the block the steel lines go into are clogged. Nothing is getting past that block even air. So i think i'll do all i can to convince dad to go with the new block and line deal. It's only $13 and i got a feeling it will be a lot easier.
