So heres the problem i own a 94 ranger with a 2.3 and a 5 speed tranny. well something went wrong with the clutch. the pedal would go straight to the floor with no resistance and wouldn't go into gear, but would grind when tryin to go into reverse. So i replaced the slave cylinder, throwout bearing, and while i had the tranny off i replaced the clutch and preasure plate too. put it back together and still had no pedal so we replaced the master cylinder also. but we still have no pedal. so now i am attempting to bleed the system and i have heard this is very difficult but its getting crazy. i've spent litterally hours trying to bleed it, i get some air bubbles to come out but i never get any presure with the pedal. so i'm wondering is there any special trick to bleeding it? and how will i know when its bled? will it gradually get some pedal or it will it all come at once? any info would be much appreciated. this little project is goin on 3 weeks now

i think i read that the recommendation was bench bleeding the master b4 installing, that took a lot of air out of the system b4 the bleed attempt. basically pump it up as much as possible and hold it, pop the bleeder, tighten the bleeder, pump up more. have you thought about changing the line as this may have been the problem to start w/?

No need to bench bleed. Just unbolt the master from the firewall so you can invert it. Run a bleed line from the slave to the master reservoir and pump away by hand for a couple of minutes until the line is clear of bubbles. Close it up, bolt it up, and you're done.

The problem is that the master has an area at the bottom that can capture air and will never bleed when bolted to the firewall. Inverting it allows you to release that trapped ari.

does anybody know where i can get the hose connecting the master and slave cylinder?? the only places i have found it, it comes with the master cylinder but all i want is the hose

What happened to the hose?
