BlackBII's white ranger

Found out why the thermostat housing was leaking. The threads on the left side bolt were stripped out. Luckily retapping 6mm threads up to 7mm is easy peasy.

The Sport looks cool, I like that graphic.

Even as a kid on the 90's I wasn't big on the pink and purple graphics...:bad:

Envious of that rust free metal you have there!!

What engine is in that '92 Sport? I think the short bed sport one looks neat but I think someone added those graphics to it.

The only 2nd gen Sport I've ever come across was back in October. It was even a 2.3 4x4 one! I pulled the rear drive shaft, m5od/1354m combo & 4.10 D35 diff as spares for my truck. I wish the factory leather steering wheel was in good shape cause I would have taken that too haha.

The '92 had a 4.0 in it. It was a nice truck. Shame it's going to get stripped and crushed one day.

That 2.3 4x4 one is sweet! It's sad seeing these rare trucks in junk yards.

Who can guess what's coming up next week? :D

Those are the nuts that need to be staked on the m5od output and counter shafts

Rebuilding the 4.0 m5od? :D
Close.

Swapping the 2.3 M5od internals to the 4.0 M5od for the lower gear ratios. The 2.3 trans has new bearings and synchros so I get a lower geared and rebuilt trans for "free". :icon_thumby:

3.40 / 2.05 / 1.31 / 1.00 / 0.79 (4.0L Engines)
3.72 / 2.20 / 1.50 / 1.00 / 0.79 (All Other Engines)

Got the 2.3 out today. I've been super busy so the Ranger has been on the back burner, but I should be able to get the 4.0 and dash swapped in in the next few weeks.

A/C and heater box insulation is looking a little old, let's fix that

15mm self adhesive foam with foil

All insulated. The foil was a little thin so I added some foil tape to it

Got the dashboard and steering column out. Going to add some more dynamat to the firewall and start on the electric power steering swap

Time to figure out how make all these parts fit together to get electric power steering
