stripping all the engine stuff out of the engine bay harness, eliminating it down to lights etc. , am going to link this up with an "engine side" harness out of an explorer, have the connections be for things like RPM, temp, oil gauges, etc.
reason for doing this is i had EGR codes out the ass and a few other issues with the engine not running right ( all electrical )
wanted everything the computer communicated with to be un-spliced wire. and local to its own harness.
another benefit to this will be having the computer inside the truck, no longer outside and exposed, easier to use a JET chip or just to access in general.
eh its not that bad, had about 4 hours into the entire wiring project! got it running again tonight, just have a canister purge solenoid circuit fault now, system pass otherwise. problem solved, no more of those pesky EGR codes =]
the " after pics" i still need to take some time and tidy up a bit the wires in the back need to be loomed and secured to the firewall , will prolly get to it next weekend.
a better picture of my gauges with the custom Mazda needles
heres a pic of my power and ground wires , 0 ga. ground to the block, 0 ga. ground to the frame, 0 ga. power wire w/ 300 amp inline fuse goes to dist block that powers amps; radios etc. , 0ga. power wire from alt to batt. bottom line is she fires right up!
Time to revive this.
taken a few years ago.
