Black truck - ? underbody

Finally starting my build on the ranger now that it's my toy, and I have a mostly taken apart Dana 35 to replace parts/bushings. Since it is so far apart, I've decided it'd be a good time to clean it up and paint it, same with the rear when I swap for a 8.8, maybe the frame. Looking around, it looks like the best !cheap! way of doing it is Rustoleum or 3M.

But now I don't know what color I should paint it. The body and accessories have pretty much stayed black/chrome, other than the interior (was it once tan or grey?). First thought was go black like the brackets/springs, but then started thinking of being a bit more creative. Skyjacker red to match the bushings maybe? Make the frame the same color when I do it or black? I thought I'd throw it to the masses and see what everyone has done/thinks.

you get lots of moisture where you are. if you have rust issues, i'd give everything a good coating of POR-15 or something similar first. then whatever color you want can go over it. just a thought.

I saw a 4wheel show one time they put herculiner on then whole underside of a 4x4. I'm going to check into that. Cause if you do it right, you'll never have to mess with it again!

IF you do it right, lots of people do a crappy job with the prep work.

Yeah, your right about that. I was thinking about media blasting my under body first. I think that would do it.

Herculiner is a pain. You have to plug all the holes that you will use, then cut the plugs out.
