For my motor to get chipped and the Ford shop I am working with has sent the PCM info to Diablo sport to get the proper tune (from what I have been told)... they are still waiting to hear back from diablo. I haven't taken the truck to them they are doing this just from the sticker info that is on pcm.

Have you ran Diablo tunes? and will this work be compatible?

thanks

i have a diablo "custom chip" from a local perf shop. its on a 5.4 but same principals i imagine. the shop i went to had lots of experience with these. i ended up going back about three times for minor changes to the tranny and timing but im a pickey bastard. once it was tuned in it is great. the milage i get on premium setup works out to be the same once you concider the price diff and you get more power. they were also able to calibrate speedo, firm up the tranny and turn off ALL o2 sensors on my truck wich was not possible with the others at the time. overall worth every penny.

What is your motor build and did they dyno when they tuned? and how much $$ did it run you to get it chipped in alberta?

stock motor, no dyno, $350. that was trough my shop though. i only noticed a minor increase in power but concidering i went from 33's to 35's at the same time id say thats pretty good for a chip.

A tune, is a tune, but a mail order tune is, at best, only marginal - only real way to get a great tune is to datalog on a dyno and also on the street (drivability tuning) and adjust tune for optimum performance. The only option for ODB-1 is using a chip, either SCT or Diablo - how well it performs is up to the experience of the tuner.

Thanks bird, reason I am asking is the ford hi-po shop that I have found to do the tune (and dyno) has to get intouch with Diablo sport to get the right chip set or something like that (information), I wasn't fully understanding the hold up. However, I am the first 4.0 ranger with the 410 that will going into the shop there with obd-1. Was just wondering if diablo will work good with the works. ( I am breaking new ground here on my end) never had to do this type of stuff before. not like turning the distributor for advance/retard timing.. LOL

thanks again :)
