we got our first big snow in wisconsin tonight and i used my 4wd and heard loud clinking almost banging a buddy said binding can someone help me. i was only in 3rd gear and doing about 25mph at about 1500-2000rpms so its not like i was horseing it and the roads were real wet and slippery please help thank you

Was this noise only when turning, or when you were going straight, too?

If you were hearing noises going in a straight line, then I'm not even going to guess what the problem may be. If it only happened when turning the wheel, your front tires may have had too much traction.

Are we talking about deep snow, or just wet roads? I ask because if the roads were only wet or only had a light covering of snow after being plowed, those conditions usually aren't extreme enough to merit 4wd, and that's where the "binding" can occur.

no the roads were completely cover about 5inches and wet snow and it was when i was going straight after about 2-maybe 3miles clank loud as hell

Did it keep making the noise or was it continuous?
