Ive had a lot of people try to help me on this one. My truck wont start. Battery is charged, shows 12.33 volts on my dmm. Turn the key, nothing. Like I dont have a battery in. My radio is hooked up directly to my battery, so I dont need the key turned to have it on. Wont turn on. Took out my battery, cleaned the terminal posts, terminals on battery cables, cleaned up all grounds, and connections on the solenoid. Still nothing. I have a solution waiting at home in florida for me, but im stuck at my dads in pa and im supposed to drive my truck home =P. Any one have any ideas? Let me know and Ill tell you if i checked it or not.

Check for B+ at the solenoid post.
Use the B- terminal as your DMM ground.

Sounds like a bad cable, probably the battery ground.

If you get 12v at the solenoid post, try using the block, firewall and radiator support as the DMM ground.

I got 12v at all of them off the solenoid. Tried starting it, nothing. Went in to eat lunch, came out about an hour later, started right up. My truck would be a good partner for Richard Simmons.

Really sounds like a loose ground somewhere.

Did you check the one coming off the windshield wiper motor? Had that problem once. I did a body lift and that ground was too short to hook back up . Turned the key and nothing. Put a jumper wire on it and it started. It is the ground for the ignition switch.

Yeah that ones tight too. Like i said, it started right up after i pretty much gave up on it. It just doesnt like to have anything to do with anything on these damp, humid mornings

You know what, I am having what I believe is the same issue. I just replaced my battery and alternator, and still have to jumpstart my truck, and even then it won't always work. I can't for the life of me figure it out :-(

That is very interesting...I wonder where to find that on my truck, ill have to look. something has to be shorting out or not making contact somewwhere

The only thing that I would suggest is to start at the battery and work out from it with a Multi tester and look for a short or fuse problem. If you have a body that could help it would go a lot faster. Sorry, no quick solution. Good luck

well it unfortunately has come down to me having to let the shop handle this one. working 48 hours through the week on top of 20 hours of school just gives me zero time to work on this one. i will let you guys know what the final result is

I had my truck at the shop this morning, they ran it on the computer and got a 118 code. Anyone know what this is or anything about it?

It's an error in the coolant temp sensing circuit. I'll try to dig up my '94 book and grab the testing procedure for it.
