My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
Just sitting here thinking about the upcoming Fourth and the state of our Republic. It saddens me to think about all that's going on. But...

We still have much to celebrate and much to be thankful for.
Take care with the incendiary devices. And watch out for the youngins.'
If you have to go somewhere keep your head on a swivel. There will be others out there who may not be as careful as you.

Above all, enjoy the day.

Like the meme I ran across on FB the other day:
"Don't let the kids play with fireworks, let the adults who have been drinking all day do it."

I don’t usually do anything other than my uncles and setting off some fireworks myself, but this year I’ll be out and about for a change.

We’re are going up to the in-laws, not for the weekend but for the 4th itself.
They live up on the side of a mountain overlooking a cemetery, so we normally set off a lot of fireworks. We pull resources with the neighbors and get a bunch of big stuff.

It’s been a dry year, and the town has recently implemented a new ordinance banning fireworks. Misdemeanor offense and $500 fine.

We took the money normally dedicated to explosives and got a keg and a water slide. :) should be a good one.

I'll be out for a change at my sister's. I don't find getting smashed to be fun but I will keep my drinking to a minimum since the State police are sure to be out in force. PA loves their revenue and irresponsible spending. So I'm sure they will be looking to make sure the coffers are full.

Get drunk, play with explosives..........what could possibly go wrong

Most have heard the tag line "Have a safe and sane 4th of July"

Well
"SAFE AND SANE FOURTH OF JULY was a movement started in Cleveland in 1908 to prevent the annual holiday injuries and deaths from fireworks."
1908...............who knew

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana, 1905

Paraphrased, "Those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it"
I think news channels and news website should re-run July the 5th news from last year......................, on July 3rd this year, so we don't forget the past, lol

Have a "Safe and sane 4th of July" (y)

And, those of us who are industrial maintenance techs say... " huh? What? Is something special happening this week?"

Beginning Monday, I'll be working the next 7 days straight. Most of them 12 hr days.

That and the 3 or 4 week black out blur that encompasses the Christmas/new years shutdown.

You can bet your bottom dollar on it.
