Just got an e-mail from the place where I got my Mustang. Never, ever heard of one like this before. Just a FYI

Attention Public

Just announced May 19th, 2010 Benna Ford in
Superior, Wis is the only Ford dealer to include a

20 Year
200,000 mile warranty

This public announcement clearly states that you
Will receive discounts and customer factory
Rebates along with a twenty year, two hundred
Thousand mile warranty. The following new vehicles will be
Included: all Fiestas, Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Taurus,
Ranger, all F series, Escapes, Explorers, Edge, Flex, Econolines.

No worries for 20 year or 200k miles. Dang, thats longer than the life of the vehicle usually. Wonder what is the cost and coverage? If it is to good to be true, it usually is. But that is a good buying incentive for a peacefully mind.

They'll probably make you take it to the dealer every 5k on the dot for service and maintenance. If you don't let them do it, warranty is void. It's probably also non-transferable. They know most people don't keep their vehicles longer than 5 years anyway.

I hate to admit that it's a good idea because I see long warranties as a sign of a crappy product, but to keep competing with anyone Ford will have to up the warranty limits. They currently have on of the shortest warranties of any company selling in the US. Heck, even Hyundai has a better warranty that Ford, they have a crappier car, but a better warranty.

i live outside Duluth, Mn. the Kia dealer in Duluth is doing the same thing. i'd read the fine print very carefully. with the Kia dealer, i went to the cities and saved $2k right off the top, so i know how they are making money for that extended warranty. it is really pretty useless in an area where it will rust out long before that 200k warranty will expire.
just my $.02.

I could see it working for something like the Ranger or F150 that someone would use as a work truck when it is time to buy a new car or a rare Mustang that one would buy as an investment. But everything else I do not see most people hanging onto for more than 10 years, let alone 20

watch they will warranty only things that don't really ever brake, like an axle or some garbage like that. So far its only been sensors on mine anf they add up fast $75 hear $120 there you get the point
