well yall im getting a set of 31x10.50 bft all terrains for free. heck of a deal huh? i know they do perty good on the road and in sand but how do they do in the mud? what are yalls opinions on em?

they are rated a 9 out of possible 10 they only suck in deep snow
Speak for your own experiences. I have ran BFG A/T's in over 3' of snow without any problems.

They are an awesome tire in everything except mud. The narrow spacing on the lugs doesn't clean out and they become chocolate doughnuts.

But they're great on the road, in sand, on snow and rock...

How'd you score a set for free?

Depends on how much mud... how gooey and how deep. I wouldnt trust them to pull me through clay and caleachy up to the axle.

I'm curious how you scored free 31x10.5's. I just forked out $640 for my last set.

I've wheeled with people in Wellsville who had them, in mud they didn't do well at all. My Bridgestone REVO's were A/T's but did much better in mud. BFG's do well in snow and wear like iron. OTOH, the wider the tire the less well it does in snow.

how did i score em for free? my buddys makes 200000 a year. decided the 31x10.5's didnt look good on his bronco after a 6'' lift so he bought some 35''s mud grips. they got a few hundred miles on em but they still got a lot of tread life on em. anyway he said i could have em fer nothing lol

the all terrains are a wicked tire all around i run them on all my trucks and it dont matter if you are in sticky mud mydders or not they will bung up but overall they are a great tire

who cares!!! they're free!!!

Honestly, I've owned a couple sets. They are louder on the road than most would expect, marginal on ice, decent on snow up to about 18"s. All in all I'd give them a 7 out of 10.

I recently got a set of 285x75x16s on my ranger. I have only tested them in the snow/ice and dry road so far, but they suck. I don't like them at all. They are horrible on ice and snow, however, I gotta say, it very well could be that they are so wide.

They are also junk when it comes to mud. Friend of mine had some 32s on his bronco and he got stuck like 4 times in one outing. It again, might be that they are so wide.

No, not operator error. Well, the mudding with the bronco was just screwing around, but they just become a solid mud doughnut.. They are garbage, I don't know where you are from or what you use yours on but in WI they don't do jack.

Just out of curiosity, what size do you run WIDTIO?

I agree. It's an A/T so deep mud will sacrifice. I've had great performance in snow with mine, I run 33x12.50's and for being wide they still grip well in the slippery stuff.

i had 215's on my 99 rwd 3.0 5spd ranger and had no problem great in the winter i see them a lot here in manitoba people seem to love em decent price too i didn't have a 4x4 and had no problem clearing a path in deep snow, great tires prolly gonna through 235's on my 03 edge after summer, their winter rated too which rocks the boat
