BF Goodrich are the best!

I have heard good things about General Grabber ATX tires. That may be my next tire and if I needed tires right now that is probably what I would buy. Does anyone know where (country) they are made?

I just took a look at sizes available. They are not available in my tire size. It looks like my choices will be the Grabber X3 MT, BFG KO2 AT or BFG KM3 MT.

I like generals. But every set I've had are so hard you could tell the date of a penny when you ran it over... this was 20+ years ago, but they were made or cement. They would dry rot long before the tread was worn, which is not exactly great for traction but hell they never died.

I only care about big gaps and big lugs. I have Treadwrights on my truck, 2 years. They are terrible on the road. Can't balance them--it feels like square tires. I would have to bolt an anvil on the rim to balance them. But they have big gaps and do well churning through the swamp on my property.

On my last Ranger I had before some lady pit maneuvered me into the grill of a semi (it hurt), I had some Chinese things like Nanking Mud Phawkers, and they were really good. Not square tires, more like hexagons. Great at delivering violence to the swamp down the field. You need the winch pretty often anyway, but all these good tires get you further so you can get more of your cable out.

My awesome 47fpm Superwinch 9.0I with the integrated solenoids died hard in the crash with the semi. I just installed the Talon 9.5 with integrated solenoids on my FJ after I smoked the cheap Viper thing it had when I bought it. The 62fpm Talon is scary. It spools faster than I can run. It might be faster than the truck. I think I should winch myself via telephone poles and save some gas. Charge it with a solar panel when I get home.

None of the cheap tires I buy wear out. Ever. Back when we were doing 3 TRS events a year, our local Combs Road was open and I was getting together with members here, and a group of guys from Cummins, I was breaking sidewalls. But not wearing out tread. And I never cared if it was loud or rough or you spun out in the rain on curves.

I spend my tire money on motorcycle tires. I put a new set of tires on my literbike every year so it doesn't kill me. A brand new set of tires is $400, but you ever try using an old pencil eraser and it tears the paper? Not only the wear, but they get hard. These tires last 3000 miles. You can smell hot rubber after a ride, the scene where you are sitting in the garage with the bike ticking the heat away and hoping the cops weren't chasing you--because you really wouldn't know.

Cheap tires, good winch.

I never wear them out on my Ranger, that is kinda why I want them to stay together as long as possible.

The Firestone MT's it currently sports were made in 2009. Still have great tread, are round and ride nice but are starting to crack.

I spied the new Cooper Evolution MT's on Amazon for possible replacements. They are a really nice looking tire for a nice price.

After my AT3 experiance where they were falling apart in 3 years I don't know if I should roll the dice...

I had a set of Cooper S/T Maxx 275/75R18's on my last F150 I had. They were great tires. I put over 60k on them.

You're the first I've heard of having bad luck with the AT3's. Most people love them. I am a Cooper fan so far, but it only takes on bad or defective set to put a bad taste in your mouth over a brand.
