i found something better than that old b2 that i knew nothing about. i found a 1985 or 86 ranger 2.3 5spd with about 80 or 90,000 original miles for 400 and all it needs is a water pump from what the owner told me and i could see, but the clutch may be fixin to go out. i hope this is a good buy, what do yall think?

if you get it might as well get the timing belt also. for 400 with that many miles it is a deal that shouldn't be passed up if you know that it is only the water pump bad and not a head gasket, and you know how to do all of the work.

How do you know it's even 90,000, and not 190,000? My Ranger only goes up to 99,999. And if the clutch is that worn out, it seems more likely than not that the miles are that high.

For $400 who cares? The body will tell you a lot if is 190k. Depending on driver the clutch only lasting 90k is entirely possible.

I would do it if the truck is in decent shape, if nothing else replacement 2.3's all but grow on trees...
