This days I am looking at the temp gauge of the truck. It never reaches the "N" of the normal word on the gauge (even on city driving) so I don´t know if it is the best temperature to run.

Here in the winter the outside temp varies between 20 and 40ºF.

My truck was originally delivered and sold in a southern place with warm climate all the year. Now it resides in my region, with moderate climate.

Maybe I had to switch for another thermostat?

The truck is a 1991 Ranger 2.3L I4.

Thankyou

My 93 2.3L barely get's up to the C in cold. If mine is on N in normal then I am running hot.

you cant always go by the gauge......has anything changed with the gauge or has it alwasy been that way

These engines run cool to begin with. Does your heat work? I would order a new Motorcraft tstat get the one that is around 192 degrees.....putting cardboard over the radiater works a little also

My '94 2.3 will almost reach the 'N' of "Normal" and that's it. Doesn't matter if I'm in town or on the highway. I'm beginning to think it's fine as it blows good heat in the cab. I have to turn it down to almost off.

all three of my rangers were like that, all had different size engines. my f-150 is the same way. i think its just a ford thing.
