Like the title states i will be building a new box for my sub and want to know which you think will provide better bass. Keep in mind both will be built to spec. or will a bandpass box be the way to go. i am looking for loud bass

If all you care about is loud go ported.
If you want clean(er)/tighter bass go sealed.
If all you want is stupidly loud bass in a very small frequency range go band pass.

yea thats kinda the end of this conversation.....

.....unitll some one posts about how there "X" sealed system beats their buddies "Y" system. bull shit

Well it looks like i will be getting a bandpass box. I put my ported box setup from my ranger into my suburban and it is nowhere near as loud due to the extra seats and length. I like to feel my bass. Thanks for the answer.

Before anything else, WHAT SUBWOOFER DO YOU HAVE? What bandpass enclosure did you use? Is it custom-built or just something you bought at the store or swap meet?
