Hi all,

My truck has been eating ball joints. Its a 99 4x4. I was wondering if anyone on here can recommend an aftermarket upgrade? Ive been using the replacements from Napa and i may try the Moog next time. I am debating to see if I can get custom built A-arms with a Heim joint. Any recommendations?

Factory replacements or moog problem solvers are about as good as they get.

My truck does the same thing. I bought moog replacements, so at least they have a lifetime warranty. But then I either gotta replace them myself, if I have time, or pay someone to do it for me. Its a real PITA.

sounds like t-bars are cranked too much

+1. Especially for those Moogs with the grease fittings.

Not sure why they keep wearing out on you unless maybe they aren't being seated all the way.

They are self seating when you crank down the bolts, but like said above tehre is a reason they are wearing out. Prolly what slo-vo said, your cranked too much.

Ive got the RDC 4.5" lift on it so im sure that has to do with it. Im gonna try out the moogs this time. Im gonna do uppers as well as inner tie-rod ends

good balljoints, spicers, moogs, mccray norris. etc with the blue boots. pro grades. best prices I bet you can find will be at rock auto. usually about half the price of the stores.

then bump(wrecking yards can be a great place to find bump stops to expirment with) and strap(dj saftey has the best prices I can find on limit straps) the thing so the ball joints live.

you dont need uniballs, etc to make them live, look at the dixon bros kits. ball joints.......

good point on the db kits. forgot about that
