Best Mod under $20

Gonna have to be the zip tie throttle cable mod for me too. Better response for a few cents and a minute or two? Can't argue with that!

My... What a GRAND idea!

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, eh?

Myself I had a backup light but never used it for that. If they are in a rush and don't want to pass me, they can be late as hell for all I care. I'll do what I do on the road thanks.

Moving on another nice mod was the LED dome light bulbs I put in my truck. A hair under $20 and at least twice as bright.

Where did you buy the LED dome lights from?

Not the entire light, just the bulbs.

I got them through work from Grandwest Enterprises.

2 cans of spray paint and a roll of blue surface tape, some notebooke paper to prevent overspray and it only cost me about 10 bux. I painted my front grill black as well as both bumpers and the fenders (flat black) suhweet looking.

I bought that for $20, haven't mounted it yet though.

I hate to tell you, but if that is from JC Whitney, it will rust like a SOB. I bought a chrome one from them for my Bronco II and I'm not kidding you, it started to rust in about 2 days. It got to the point where it was so badly rusted, I had to take if off because it looked so bad. Almost $200 to waste. I will never buy another product like that from them. $20 isn't too much of a loss so I wouldn't be as concerned. Good find though.

Previous owner removed the center console so for $10 at the junkyard, I got one from an Explorer so I now have cup holders and it bolted straight up.

Welded diffs.

Few bucks of wire and juice.

A half gallon of matte black latex paint to paint over my multi colored and faded rhino lining instead of paying $900 to get them to re do the whole bed I paid a total of like $15 for a wire brush wheel and the half gallon of paint. Worked amazing :icon_thumby: Oh yeah and can't forget the zip tie throttle mod it worked like a charm.

$10 stereo from the pick-n-pull junkyard. Thank you, '85 Grand Marquis!

painting rims is another cheap one. mine were rusty so i painted them black. looks soo much better now

Edit: already suggested on 1st page.

The Joe Satriani album in the CD player. Best driving music ever created.

Another cheapo mod I like is using the RainX washer juice (orange deicer in the winter & green bug wash in the summer.

Yet another mod I did was put a pair of the Bosch "beam-style" wiper blades on. At first I balked I thought I was crazy for spending $18 on a set of new blades, but after the first heavy rain, the became worth every penny!
