Ive heard volvo and taurus fans are popular. Considering the clearance issues i previously used a flexalite but it didnt draw enough air....any lower profile fans?

Those two are about the best to use for cheap. You can use the volve wiring and whatnot on the Taurus fan too. I'm running a Taurus fan with a painless wiring setup and only run mine on low and haven't had a problem yet.

Here's a link to the write-up in the tech library if you haven't already seen it.

You could try one from a sn95 mustang, not sure what kind of clearance you have but it is a 2 speed fan. On high speed it will move some air, it's what I run on my foxbody but I only use the high setting.

Problem is finding a mustang in the JY.that hasn't been completely stripped of everything.

True, I believe they used the same e fans for multiple years but I guess it's just keep an eye out and you may get lucky and find one

dodge has several smaller variations i liked across the platforms.

hyundai has some good fitting as well.

most any of them work very well.

I've used the Volvo fan on a couple of RBVs, but not with the 5.0. It worked really well even on the hottest days here in Texas with the A/C going. I usually get the 850/V70 fan and controller for $30-$40 from the JY, cut the housing down to fit the double core 4.0 radiator and wire it through its own relay to a 3 way switch (lo/High/off).

i run a rwd v8 lincoln intech dual fan setup on my truck, with a massive radiator and 6.2 v8 diesel. its tight for sure, but manageable. so i always wonder whats so hard about such things like this.

yeah i found a few volvo fans in the salvage yard...once the motor gets in ill do some measuring. clearance is tight for sure. Ill post some pics when done

curious what you guys used to adapt the temp switch into the system without going in the place of a sensor. Going inline with a heater or radiator hose im assuming? What did you use? Pictures greatly appreciatted. Also is that temp switch easy to find in the ole junkyard? If so...what cars?

The top hose neck on mine has a hole that was tapped and had a bolt in it but not used from the factory, got it off an 84 f150. Thing is, it's after the tstat and not before as desired but all I have to do is still a hole at the top of my tstat so that the cooled fluid can run past my sensor to turn it off since it sits in the hot fluid after it closes and gets exposed to nothing but the hot fluid causing it to stay on unnecessarily.

Another solution, move it to the bottom hose or drill and tap a hole before my tstat in my intake for the temp switch.

Since I'm running carbed and don't use my dash gauge, I didn't take place of anything. Going to be installing my temp gauge in a week or so in the place reserved for it.

im getting the 5.0 in this weekend so ill have to see how much room I have. I found a volvo fan setup but im not sure i have the clearance to use it. ITs going to be tight. I have the advance adaptors aluminum radiator.

Anyone know if the Volvo fan can be used as a pusher on the front of the radiator? Its the only place I have room on this motor
