Best gears for a 3.SLOW

I ran 4.10 with 33s turned them over fine rpms about 3000 at 70mph

As far as sniffer test is conserned a 5.0 out of a 96-97 explorer will pass just fine just keep the egr and cats intact the obd2 tests are harder to pass in my opinion

one more thing since I don't think it got answered. I got a lead on a 4.0 donor, so 4.88s in that or 4.56s for 33s?

4.56:1 is good for 33s on a 4.0L (5.0L too) but a 3.0L or smaller should have 4.88:1 for 33s.

I would have to have State Patrol re write my VIN to accomodate the larger engine in order to pass. I'm not too concerned about passing an OBD2 test, all they do is plug in the scanner and pretty much check for codes.

OBD1 tests are harder to pass here.

Sweeeet. I found out today, later 2000s ranger came with disc brake 8.8s in some models... My life is so challenging.
