best 3.0 add on

If you like the stock 3.0 so much then go start your own thread and discuss your stock trucks to your hearts content, and leave the rest of us alone that like to tinker with our trucks.

First, the title of this forum is "3.0 Liter", not the "Delusional $300 Performance Mod" forum. Second the OP asked IF he could get, "noticable increase in power" with $300, I think that's a question open to opinion and inviting contributions. It's up to the site owner to dedicate a forum to "Performance Mods", but until then this forum is open to all who care to comment. I wonder why there is not a separate 3.0 Liter performance mod forum, maybe because it's not a reasonable expectation with the 3.0 liter. But you are free to start your own web site titled, "Massive Power Increases With $300".

Wow your really lost, Their are some very fast 3.0 motors, not all are Fords, but they can be. Take the Noble previously posted, that car ranks as a killer supercar, Yes it is setting on a great chassis but its the twin turbo setup on the modified Duratec engine that moves it. This was a predecessor to Fords Eco-boost technology, those run really well too. I think many surprised V8 car & truck owners that have seen the tailgate of my truck would also say that I have a very good running 3.0 V6 as well. Not bad for what most consider a turd, maybe its their ignorance that makes this motor a turd.

From looking at some of your past forum contributions & comments WE all would be better off if you would spend more time reading & less typing.

There are absolutely extreme mods as above, and a turbo will pretty much boost any vehicle's HP, but not for $300. Most of the comment requests here are for inexpensive bolt-ons that posters hope will give them unreasonable gains. I don't think it helps to foster unrealistic, unproven expectations or maybe foolish expenditures of scare dollars. I believe I've seen a post by you that states headers on the 3.0 liter will not give the expected results and may even reduce needed torque. If that's true I think that's a reasonable response to a question on headers. It's fun to tinker, but as a once teenager I would have appreciated some level headed guidance on why my inexperienced, un-researched, unproven bolt on's, that did not view engine performance from a systems approach, were wasting my money. Aftermarket parts suppliers are very willing to take your money on smoke and mirrors marketing. From viewing the Tom Morana web site it appears on the surface that he has some credibility on the mods he sells. But of course real life results may be different.

Yes i agree tom morana has some really nice products because i believe he tests all of his products. Which is why he lists an actual gain on all products. However if you are skilled in port work you can create the fully ported intake manifold yourself. And save a lot of money. Porting heads is another place you can save. Only if you know what you are doing.
