So I'm back to fabin my bumper for my 97, Got all my plate work done now its time for a bit of tubeege..lol
So any ideals on bending with out a bender? And don't say to go buy one. I don't want to spend a single penny on a bender just yet as I won't be useing it at all after I bulid this bumper..I got some oxc/acy torchs to heat it. MY ideal way to fill with sand, heat and bend over a pieace of larger pipe I got. Id most likey just tack weld the pieace I am bending to the larger pipe to hold it.

Any outher I deals on this?

filling with sand is the trick I think. Then heat and bend.

Video this when you do it

kthxby

make sure to video and take lots of pics.. i wanna see if this works!

Friend and I tried it with vise + sand and torch heat. Still collapsed(not enough sand?)
Ended up cutting something like 2 30degree angles and 2 15degree angles and welding it all together for the 90degree bend.
Exhaust work, looks weren't important.

This is for a bumper. Like I said I don't really want to buy a bender just yet. As I wont be useing it a lot and I need some new rubber..lol But I think my uncle is goin to let me use his harbor freight tube kinker. But im still goin to try this. Done some talking with a few guys and said to fill with sand, and heat cheery ready and than bed SLOW.....I would't suggest doin this on a cage or something that is goin to see some stress.

use 40 pipe.

wheel rotor/wheel etc for a die.

for a bumper its fine. its been getting done since steel was made into a tube/pipe

Yea was thinking about the rotor. I allready have some tubeing, I'm not sure what kind it is i'd say something bout like 40...it was free so its goin to be use.lol
